Niner Wine Estate, Paso Robles, California
A classic Cabernet Sauvignon. It has pleasant herbal notes, along with lavender, dark red and black fruits, some tar and a little smoke. Flavors include cassis and dark cherry, with a hint of herbaceousness. It has a plump mild palate of dried cranberry, nice depth, fine tannins, and a long lasting finish.
Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
The finished wine is fruit forward, with a bouquet of baked cherry, blueberry pie, cinnamon, nutmeg cedar, and tobacco. It has jammy flavors of dark fruits, spice, and a little smoke. It has lively acidity and nicely structured tannins.
Twisted Spur 2008
This wine has exceptional structure and balance with nice acidity and a long finish. It is juicy with firm tannins and has flavors of blackberries, black and white pepper, and oak. The nose shows slight bacon and leather characteristics.
Fog Catcher 2006
This complex wine is big and rich, enjoyable now, but will benefit from aging in the cellar for five years or more. It is soft and lush, simultaneously boasting a good amount of oak tannin. It is minty and floral, showing off flavors of candied violets, soy sauce, leather, caramel and vanilla. An elegantly dressed up, concentrated Cabernet blend.
Sauvignon Blanc 2009
The wine smells of Meyer Lemons, Mandarin Oranges, and freshly rinsed herbs, with hints of vanilla, and white pepper. It is full in the mouth, with flavors of pineapple, tangerine, lemon, fennel, and minty basil. It has a lovely creaminess that balances the acidity, which is long and seamless.
